About Kokoro

Kokoro | Mind, Body, Renewal was founded by Miranda Mason with the purpose of integrating medical services with more holistic practices, providing a truly dedicated wellness space for all to enjoy.

Having spent the past 15 years practicing as a physiotherapist, Miranda recognises that the psychological trauma of pain can often be as limiting as the physical aspects of pain.

In recent years, she has used Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) to provide a more rounded approach to rehabilitation, ensuring each client is individually treated in all aspects of care to resume a fulfilling and carefree approach to life, without the anxieties that we often have regarding our aches and pains.

Miranda believes we have a physiological as well as a biological age:  in other words, why act your age if you feel 10 years younger!?  We only get one life and it should be seized with both hands to be the best of our abilities.

About | Miranda

Using both her BSc Hons Physiotherapy Degree from the University of Liverpool (2010), as well as her PG Dip in Physiotherapy from UWE (2016), Miranda initially started in the NHS developing a broad skillset working in hospitals as well as in the community and specialist settings.

In the past decade, Miranda has worked solely in the private sector, developing a broad skill set from work on the pitch-side with rugby, as a locum in fast paced and demanding environments, as well as with high level athletes as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Skilled in managing complex cases, persistent/chronic pain, exercise prescription/rehabilitation, sports injuries, and post-operative rehabilitation, Miranda's passion lies in helping people work through a challenging rehabilitation journey to make a return to sport, or to achieve a goal that once seemed out of reach.

Having practiced both in the UK and abroad in the UAE, Miranda has worked with a diverse range of clients, and understands that every individual has their own goals they wish to work towards.

Her work as an NLP Master Practitioner helps her to provide a more holistic approach to physiotherapy, and she is passionate about going the extra mile to help you achieve a better quality of life.

What is kokoro?

Kokoro is a well-understood Japanese term that is difficult to explain in English.

Conceptually, it unites the notions of heart, mind, and spirit: It sees these three elements as being inextricably linked, like the true heart of someone.

For example if we say, ‘She has good kokoro’, it means heart and spirit and soul and mind, all together.
